When we last left the Hanniganites they were attending a post trial luau, the party lasted far into the night. The next morning some people went back to the house but there are still some lazing about in the sun.
Jenny and Lori are sitting near the water building a huge sand castle. Lori is filling her pail with sand when her shovel hits something buried in the sand...
Lori: Hey, there's something down here!
Jenny: Let's see what it is!
They start digging, soon sand is flying everywhere and the others gather around to see what they have dug up.
Jenny: Wait! I think i can pull it out!
[she tugs at it and it comes free suddenly, throwing her back on the sand]
Ouch!
Ash: What is it?
They all lean in to examine the cloth wrapped object, Jenny carefully unwraps it.
Jenny: It looks like there are a bunch of old papers here, we should be carefull with them so they don't fall apart.
Lori: This looks like a book.
[opens it]
I think it's a diary. I can't read most of it.
Lori is turning the pages when the book just falls apart, pages flutter to the sand, oops!
Jenny: I said be careful!
Eva: Hey guys!
[no one listening]
GUYS!!!
[all turn to stare at her, she is holding part of the book that fell apart]
What do you think a paper with a big red X on it is?
Whole group: TREASURE MAP!!!
They all jump around high fiving each other and cheering...
Lori: What are we waiting for! Let's go find it!
Jenny: Wait! We don't even know if it's this island, and we can't go off without survival gear, and food!
They all agree and head for the hotel to study the map and get some gear together.
Is it really a treasure map or a hoax?
What could the treasure be?

Lori: Wow, this map is complicated. It's like the guide in the game MYST.
Eva: Aww, it's not that complicated. Let's see...this page goes here...and this one goes here...um...this one goes...
The gathered Hanniganites watch in awe as Eva pieces the map together, page by page.
Ash: You're amazing! How'd you do that?
Eva:[clears throat]
Mm hm...they're called page numbers.
Jenny:[Peers at the tiny numbers that are nearly scratched out in the corner of each page]
They're so tiny...Does anyone have tape?
Ash: I've got liquid nail!
Lori: I think tape will be fine, Ash. Here, I've got some.
[Pulls tape out of her beach bag]
Everyone looks at her questioningly.
Lori: [shrugs]
Well, you never know when you'll find an old treasure map lying around on the beach.
Ash: Okay, well let's hop to it. We need to tape the map first. Who would like to be the leader of the treasure hunt?
Lori: Oh, definitely Jenny and I. We're just crazy enough to try.
Jenny: This is true...Um, can I bring Spike?
Raven: Jenny, I hear sunburns are really bad out in the tropics.
Jenny:[looks sheepish]
Well, a girl can try, can't she?
Lori: Nice try, Jen...Okay, the description in the diary does fit a tropical island. Which one, though?
What island is the treasure on?
What kind of Hanni-gear will they need?
Will Ash find another use for the liquid nail?
Will Jenny think of a way to bring Spike along?
And what about the cabana boy?

[all standing around trying to figure out which island the treasure is on]
Tara: It looks like the Hanniganite-island!!!!
Lori: We have our own island?
Tara: Well, yeah I sent in for it, it was an offer on the back of a cereal box! You had to send in 10 box tops and \$19.99.
Eva: You have alot of free time, don't you?
Tara: I don't have cable, I have to make my own fun.
Is the island really the Hanniganite-island?
Is Jenny still trying to find a way to bring Spike?

::gets Spike away from Jenny, and locks him in a closet:: Sorry, he's MY Spike Sunlight isn't good for him anyway. ::sneaks into the closet.....::

Part 5-Jenny
Jenny is pacing up and down in Lori's soundproof room (using many choice words which cannot be printed here).
Lori: Calm down, Jenny. You can negotiate with Lauren.
Jenny: I hadn't planned on taking Spike anyway. I think I know that the sunlight's bad for him. Geez. And there's no time for negotiation. We have to leave so no one else gets to the treasure before we do.
Lori: Well, I guess you'll just have to deal with it when we get back.
Jenny: Yeah, well I don't live in the evil suite for nothing.
Lori: I fear for your students, Jenny.
Jenny: What? I'm a wholesome schoolteacher. Not to worry. [G]
Lori: Right. Okay, back to business.
Jenny: Right. Lanterns.
Lori: Check.
Jenny: Hanni-chocolate.
Lori: Check. The most important Hanni-Survival item!
Jenny: Map.
Lori: Oops, that would probably be helpful.
[Lori runs to her closet and starts throwing stuff out onto the floor until she finds the map]
Jenny gives her a quizzical look.
Lori: I was keeping it safe.
Jenny: Our special guests.
Lori: All taken care of.
There is a knock on the door. Lori opens the door and all the Hanniganites who are going on the treasure hunt walk in...
Will the Hanniganites be in time for the boat to the Hanniganite Island?
Will we find out what cereal Tara was eating?
Was Jenny really upset about Spike? (Well, real life Jenny thought it was really funny. LOL Lauren!)
What could the buried treasure possibly be?

Part 6-Lori
All the treasure hunters were gathered in Lori's room. They all had their packs, Lori took a last look around and they disappeared in a flash of blue, to reappear seconds later on the Hanni-island. CB was waiting to take them to the main base camp.
CB: Welcome, the camp has been set up as you requested and the supplies you sent ahead have been inventoried and stored.
CB led them up a small hill, on top a well organized camp had been set up, tents were assigned and after dinner the group began to study current maps of the island and compare them to the treasure map. Jenny and Lori strolled around the edge of camp...
Jenny: This is so great! I can't believe you did this all so fast!
Lori: Well I did have some help...[g]
A loud cry brought them back to the group.
Eva: Look! this lake and row of hills is the same on both maps! This is where we have to start from!
Lori turns to CB: How far is it to those hills and how long will it take us to get there?
He studies the map for a moment
CG: Well the distance is not great, one day maybe two, but the terrain is very rough and dangerous.
Lori: Can we get in there on foot?
CB: Yes, but it will be difficult to carry the supplies and other gear. We need some pack animals.
Lori and CB walk off a ways and talk quietly, then Lori disappears in a flash of blue. About an hour later she reappears with a bunch of animals.
Ash: There is no way I'm riding on a donkey!
The others nod and mumble in agreement until CB reassures them...
CB: We have to walk in, the animals will carry the supplies and heavy equipment.
Everyone is relieved to hear this
Lori: And they aren't donkeys, they're burrows. I rented them from a guy in Arizona.
Eva: Lori, you know the strangest people!
The group decides to go to sleep so they can get an early start. They all fall asleep dreaming of treasure.
How dangerous is the terrain?
Does Ash really not know the difference between a donkey and a burrow?
Who are these strange people Lori knows? More coming soon...
Part 7-Jenny
Bright and early the next morning, the hearty adventurers are almost ready to set out.
Jenny: Before we start, I have one thing to do.
Ash: What's that, Jenny?
Jenny: [EG] Oh, nothing. But I need to borrow the zapper gizmo, Lori.
Lori: That's not what it's called.
Jenny: I know. Be back in a flash.
Jenny disappears in a flash of blue light.
Ash: I think I know what she's up to.
Lori: What's that?
Ash: Remember the Spike problem?
Lori: How could I forget?
Ash: Well, I'm reasonably sure she's going back to the house to take care of it.
Lori: UH OH!
Ash: Hey, do you want to play a trick on her while she’s gone?
Lori: Oooo, what do you have in mind?
Ash: This is my plan...
Meanwhile, back at the Hanniganite House:
A lone figure stalks, er, walks in the secret passageways and finally reaches the correct wall. Touching a button that is flush with the wall, the figure watches a door slide to the right.
Spike: Well, it's about time someone got me out of here.
Jenny: Shhhh, Lauren will hear you. What's the problem? Afraid of the dark?
Spike: Afraid of you, more likely.
Jenny: Oh, well I can just leave you in here, then.
Jenny starts to walk out and begins to slide the panel back.
Spike: [reaches out and holds the wall]
Not so fast. Where are we going?
Jenny: [G] I knew you'd see it my way.
Back at the Hanniganite island:
Eva: Shhhh, Ash. Stop giggling.
Ash: I can't help it. She's gonna kill us.
Raven: Well, you'll just give it away if you keep giggling.
There is a flash of light on the hill, only 100 feet away.
Lori: Ooo, quiet now.
The Hanniganites simmer down as a lone voice calls out.
Jenny: Where in the world is everyone?! Ah, man, you guys left without me? I said I'd be back in a flash.
CB: Jenny, where did all your friends go?
Jenny: [EG] Why don't you tell me.
[starts to walk towards CB]
What will Jenny do to the Cabana Boy?
Where did she take Spike? (See, I managed to get him back into a post)
Will Lauren spirit him away again?
How long will the Hanniganites hide?
[starts laughing when she realizes Jenny took the CLONE of Spike and she has the real one]

Part 8-by Jenny
Last time on "X Marks the Spot!!!", the Hanniganites decided to play a trick on Jenny, hiding from her while she rescued Spike from Lauren's clutches. When Jenny returned, she only found CB waiting at the Hanni-camp on the island.
CB: Where did all your friends go?
Jenny: [EG] Why don't you tell me. [starts to walk towards CB]
Eva: I
[giggle]
can't help it. Do you see the look on his face?
Lori:[whispering]
How could I miss it? You know, I think Jenny had too much chocolate last night.
Ash: Yeah, too much...oooo, quiet. They're coming this way.
Raven: Maybe she didn't find Spike. That would explain the look on her face.
Lori: Let's just hope no one in the house has been doing cloning experiments on Spike. That would really m-
Eva:[starts to giggle uncontrollably]
Two Spikes! Oh my g-
Lori: Eva, stop it!
Ash: Uh oh, the jig is up, guys.
The Hanniganites look up and see a shadow looming above them.
Jenny: Ahem...Just what were you guys thinking?
Ash: I, uh, I-
Jenny: I can't believe you guys left the map in the sun like that. It'll fade.
Lori:[rises and brushes the dirt off of her pants, shrugs]
Uh, yeah, sorry, it was only for a few minutes.
Jenny: Why are you all behind the bushes?
Ash: Looking for the treasure, of course. Right guys.
They all look dumbfounded.
Ash: RIGHT GUYS.
Hanniganites(in unison)
: Yeah, right.
Jenny: In the bushes? You weren't hiding from me, were you?
Lori: Us? Nope, not us. No way.
Jenny: You guys are hyper. It must be all that chocolate you had last night.
Eva: [giggles]
Lori: Must be the chocolate, yep. Um, time's a wasting, guys. Time to depart. Okay, CB, let's-
[looks around]
Hey, where did he go?
Raven: Jenny, what did you do to him?
Jenny: I didn't do anything. He was just here.
Lori:[calls out]
CB!!! Oh, CB!!!!!
Ash: Maybe one of those donkeys did something t-
Lori: They're burrows, Ash...Um, everyone spread out...We have to find him. He's our guide.
What happened to CB?
Will Jenny realize that the Spike she rescued is a clone? (Or is he really a clone?)
Will the Hanniganites have to rough it without a guide?

Part 9-Lori
Previously on "X Marks the Spot":
Jenny has found the hidden Hanniganites and they are ready to be on their way when they discover their guide missing...
Group: CB! CB! CB!
Lori: Darn! Darn! Darn! Where did he go!
Ash: Can't one of the other cb's take us?
Lori: Well I guess, but he was my favorite! He had such talent.
(dreamy look in eyes)
Ash: I know, I know!
(sigh)
Jenny: Let's get another cb to lead us.
The three of them go off to inspect the other choices for guides and finally decide on a fine looking young man.
Jenny: Can you help us follow this map?
Guide:(looks at map)
Yes, it is a clearly marked route but it will be dangerous.
Lori: Yeah, yeah, danger, blah, blah, blah. Can you get us there or not?
Guide: Yes, it would be my pleasure.
Lori/Ash:[sigh]
Jenny: Knock it off you two! He has to concentrate on getting us to the X, hands off of him!!!
Lori and Ash pout and the rest of the group starts up the trail. Two natives follow with the burrows packed with supplies and equipment.
Lori: Well if we are going i guess we should catch up.
Ash: Yeah, besides, those two with the donkeys are cute!
Lori: Burrows, Ash! Burrows!
They run up the trail to catch the rest of the group, as the clearing quiets a voice can barely be heard calling for help...
Voice: Help, Help, I'm trapped!
A dark figure moves in the shadow of the trees, evil laughter floats across the clearing.
Where did CB go?
Will the new guide get them to their destination safely?
Will Lori and Ash keep away from him?

Part 10-Jenny
Last time on "X Marks the Spot," CB had disappeared and Ash and Lori were staring dreamily at the new CB. A half day later:
Ash: Whew! This is a long trail.
Lori: I know. Kind of makes one wonder.
Jenny: Wonder what?
Lori: It makes one wonder if the treasure will be worth it.
Ash: It had better be.
Jenny: Our sources told us that it might be well worth the wait.
Ash: What sources?
Lori: [EG] You'll see.

Somewhere else on the Hanni-island:
Figure With Red Hair: [humming]
Jeremiah was a bull frog...was a good-
Figure With Brown Hair: You sang that the last time we were stuck in the wilderness.
FWRH: Are you suggesting that I am repeating myself?
FWBH: Not a suggestion. A fact.
Kat: I hate it when you guys argue.
FWBH: We're not arguing. We're communicating.
Kat: Right... Hey, it's almost 3 pm. Shouldn't we have rendezvoused by now? Raven said we would meet at 2:15 pm.
FWRH: You're right. How strange.
FWBH: Are you sure we have the correct coordinates?
Kat:[fixes him with an "of course" sort of expression.]
FWBH: Okay, okay. You're both killing me here. Let's see... nope, these are the right coordinates.
They all look around at the lake and at the lush greenery that seems to go on for miles and miles up into the hills, their calculations indicating that they have the correct rendezvous point.
FWRH: Let's just take a break. I'm sure they'll show...
[Begins to hum and Kat joins in]
Jeremiah was a bullfrog...was a...
FWBH groans.

Meanwhile, the Hanniganites have stopped on the trail to let the Burrows have water.
Jenny: Yeesh, it's hot here.
Lori: Sure is. Couldn't the cereal box have offered a cooler island?
Tara: We take what we can get.
Jenny: True.
Ash: You know something guys, shouldn't we be at the lake already?
Lori: Not necessarily.
Jenny: Well, let's look at the map...
[traces the trail with her finger]
Wait a minute, look guys...
The gathered Hanniganites gasp in unison as they realize that the lush, tree-lined trail on the map heading for the lake does not match the dry, barren trail they are on right now. And the hills are too far to the right.
Lori: Hey, CB, we're going in the wrong direc- CB? CB?! Where is he?
The Hanniganites look around, no CB in sight.
Ash: Folks, I think we've been had. And to think, he was so cute.

[laughs silently, exhaling a puff of smoke]
Where in the world is the second CB? Did he ditch them or has something happened to him?
