PROLOGUE
THE GRAND DOWAGER EMPRESS MAREVA'S VOICEOVER: There was a time not long ago when we lived in an enchanted world full of elegant parties and stuff. It was 1916, and my son was the czar of Imperial Russia. Ozacious, huh? And today at the party I had a gift for my youngest granddaughter Alystasia.
YOUNG ALYSTASIA: For me? Is it a jewelry box?
MAREVA: Open it and you'll see.
Alystasia opens the jewelry box. Inside is a necklace.
MAREVA: Read what it says.
Alystasia looks at the necklace. It reads:
Frog City CHAT, SATURDAY APRIL 17, 1999
6:30 EST, 5:30 CST, 4:30 MST, 3:30 PST AND 12:30 PARIS TIME
ALYSTASIA: Really? Oh, Grammama!
MAEREVA'S VOICEOVER: But Alystasia would be kept away from the Hanniganite chat that week. A dark cloud had settled over the house. His name was Rascottin. He claimed to be a holy man, but he was really just a liar. He banished the family with a curse, selling his soul for the power to destroy them.
Cut to a scene of death and destruction (or anything like that suitable for a children's announcement). Mareva and Alystasia are running through the castle trying to get away when Alystasia turns back.
YOUNG ALYSTASIA: My music box!
She grabs it, and Dinicktri is there.
YOUNG DINICKTRI: This way, out the servants passageway!
He opens the door and they go out, but Alystasia drops the music box. They run out toward the train. Mareva is able to get on, and grabs Alystasia's hand.
YOUNG ALYSTASIA: Don't let go!
The train takes off, and Alystasia stumbles and falls, lost in the crowd.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ALYSTASIA? DID DINICKTRI GET OUT OKAY? WILL THIS REMINDER SERIES SUCK AS BAD AS ILLINOIS HAHA?
THESE QUESTIONS AND MORE WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF ALYSTASIA.
PART ONE
Aly is getting ready to leave the orphanage, while the old lady caretaker leads her to the gates while the other kids call their goodbyes.
OLD LADY: I got you a job at the minuature golf course. You take that road left and follow it down a couple miles and you're there.
ALY: Goodbye! Goodbye, everybody!
OLD LADY: Are you listening?
ALY: Um, yes?
OLD LADY: For the last ten years I've fed you, gave you your own AOL account, clothed you, I've-
ALY: Put a roof over my head, I know.
OLD LADY: How is it that you have no clue as to who you were before you came here but you can remember all that?
ALY: I do have a clue to who I was, see?
Aly pulls out the necklace she wears. It reads:
Frog City Chat
Today, Saturday April 24, 1999
6:30 EST, 5:30 CST, 4:30 MST, 3:30 PST and 12:30 Paris time
OLD LADY: So you want to go to Frog City to find your Family.
ALY: ::geeker joy::
OLD LADY: It'll never happen. It's time to take your place in life! Be grateful.
Old Lady pushes Aly out of the gates and locks it. She goes back inside, leaving Aly alone. She walks off to the road that the old lady told her to take.
ALY: "Be grateful"... I am grateful. Grateful to get away! I can have my own fun! I don't want to go left. I know what's left. I'll be Aly the orphan forever. But if I go right, maybe I can find my Family at Frog City! Whoever gave me this necklace must have been devoted to the adorable. This is crazy. Me, go to a chat room? Send me a sign! Anything!
Aly sits down on a rock, waiting. Happa puppy comes up behind her and grabs her scarf.
ALY: I can't play now. I'm waiting for a sign.
Aly fights Happa for the scarf, but Happa starts running the way toward Frog City.
ALY: Oh, great. A dog wants me to go to Frog City. (pause) Wait a minute... I am so mentally challenged! Okay, doggie, let's go.
Aly and Happa start off.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(Aly, Eva and Natalie are sitting at an outdoor cafe, sipping coffee.)
ALY: I shouldn't drink this. It makes me jumpy.
NATALIE: And I'm on the coffee wagon but you don't see me complaining.
EVA: You know what this reminds me of? That anywhere but here game... You know...
ALY: The one at the outdoor cafe in Italy, with the moped parked outside...
EVA: And the ziti!
NATALIE: What was that waiter's name again?
ALL: John Cusack!
(Laugh)
ANNOUNCER: For remembering those times, drink Hanniganite brand coffee. It's not decaffeinated, but decaffeinated is the devil's coffee anyway.

PART TWO
Open on the old palace, where Mlad and Dinicktri have just finished auditioning people to be Alystasia.
MLAD: That's it, Dinicktri. It's over. We'll never find anyone to play Alystasia.
DINICKTRI: Well, isn't the glass half empty? Relax, we'll find her. And all the Empress will have to do is look at this jewelry box and think it's the real Alystasia. And when she figures it out, we'll be living it up in... Belgium, maybe.
VLAD: Belgium? Why there?
DINICKTRI: I think the question is, why not? Belgium...
Meanwhile, Aly follows Happa to the old palace, where he sneaks in through the boarded-up door.
ALY: Happa! Sh... Ruff, bad dog!
Aly breaks apart the boards, which Dinicktri hears upstairs.
DINICKTRI: Did you hear that?
MLAD: Hear what?
Aly opens the door and walks inside.
ALY: Hello! Anyone home?
Dinicktri is at the top of the stairs.
DINICKTRI: Hey! What are you doing in here?
Aly takes off running, but Dinicktri goes after her.
DINICKTRI: Wait!
She stops right next to an old painting of the royal family. Dinicktri stops when he sees the stunning resemblance to the young Alystasia.
DINICKTRI: Mlad, do you see that?
MLAD: That sign above the painting?
Mlad points to a sign that reads:

6:30 EST, 5:30 CST, 4:30 MST, 3:30 PST and 12:30 Paris time
(I know, it's lame, deal with it.)
DINICKTRI: No, below that.
MLAD: Ah, I get it now.
ALY: Are you Dinicktri?
DINICKTRI: That depends. Who are you?
ALY: My name is Aly. I need travel papers and someone in a scene that was cut told me you were the man to see.
DINICKTRI: Hm. You know, you look an awful lot like... Never mind. What was that about travel papers?
ALY: Yes. I'd like to go to Frog City.
DINICKTRI: Let me ask you something, Aly, was it? Do you have a last name?
ALY: Funny story, really. I was found wandering the streets when I was eight years old. Before that, who knows?
DINICKTRI: That's... perfect.
