"I thought it was very funny that Anya's bluntness and
cluelessness were part of her personality as a human.
I'd always assumed she'd forgotten how to feel human
during her millenium as a vengeance demon. I like it
when they twist stuff." --
Lorien
"Okay, did anyone else get bothered by the fact that no one mentioned that vengeance demons are only vulnerable if you take away their necklaces? Everybody learned that during the 'party that wouldn't end' ep (the viewers learned it during 'Doppelgangland'.) She should have known that she couldn't hurt Anya with a sword. I kept wondering when Buffy would try to go for the necklace and she never did. Also, destroying the necklace might have made Anya human again (or at least taken away her powers), thus making her one of the 'can't hurt anyone' demons that the Scoobies don't have to kill. I was thinking that Xander would destroy the necklace thereby preventing Buffy from killing the now human (or harmless) Anya. Would have been a nice, heroic, and smart thing for the PTB to have Xander do." --

"I really liked how they brought this up. First, it shows Buffy
hasn't forgotten what she had done, and she doesn't do the judge, jury, executioner thing without understanding the burden it carries. It also brings back the whole "kick his ass" comment that seemed to have just came and left. Perhaps a little conflict between Xander and Willow now that the truth is out?" -- Alan
[re: "Becoming" ]
"Yes, I thought it was well done of the PTB to do that
scene. First he lays a guilt trip on her for not
killing Angel soon enough and now he lays a guilt trip
on her for jumping to kill Anya too soon. It's
understandable, because he cares for Anya but I'm glad
to see Buffy standing up for herself." --

[re: Natalie: "And they never even touched the whole Hallie as Cecily thing!"]
"Kind of odd that they'd have that whole set up for the Cecily thing and then do nothing with it. Though something occurred to me earlier today: Hallie made a reference to having some sort of rivalry with Anya during the Crimean War, but that, if I recall correctly, was in the 1850's, or about the time Cecily would have been born. So how could Hallie be Cecily. Unless she was only pretending to be a human named Cecily." --
Scott
"An episode that had references to events in seasons two, four, five, and six. I'm getting the odd feeling that they're doing a sort of nostalgia trip in anticipation of wrapping up the series this year. Hmm." --

[re: Lorien: "Why do you call him Kube?"]
"I think it's in reference to a character on the old "Parker Louis Can't Lose" tv show. The guy playing Olaf played a guy called Kube. Anybody else notice how they put the old scratchy film look on the flashback scene?." --

"Don't think so.... I'm thinking Anya..." --

"i agree with you here. also im so happy with this. a million b/a warriors /ba shippers sighed of relief (is there a million? i dont know..)...thats all we wanted--the characters to stay in character and remember. thats why the ad ran in the hollywood reporter. "i've loved angel more than ill ever love anybody" i need to put that on my splash page of my website tonite. i was so happy. also the becoming refernece--ths is SO
Btvs's last season--joss is finally answering/touching on subjects fans have been talking/griping about..nat that convo was dall over the web about xanders lie--not just this board. and willow was so cute--'wait i didnt say that'...they handled it perfectly. im loving btvs this season...and spike as crazy? hey it works for me. i dont think relationships will play a huge part this seaosn on btvs though...call me crazy but i think theyll keep willow,
xander and buffy single--like season 1. the show seems creppier and more 'back to basics' like the first seaosn so far to me and that means less 90210-ish. I think theres more drama in yeah willow loved tara and she died (love and loss cos of death), xander loved anya but wasnt ready (love and loss cos of fear of future) and buffy doesnt let herself love since angel, or let anyone in like that because shes the slayer..ayway i have a whole theory on
buffy and her loves but not enough room here--and yes shes still my favorite character.
now all we need is for buffy to remember the forgotten day. oh and dork angel to die or something and let the real angel come back. " --

[re: Natalie: "From beneath you it devours. Yeah, yeah, we get it. Just put it on the front page of the Sunnydale Times. "Our top story today: From beneath you, it devours. Buffy Summers, this means YOU!"]
"I'm not so sure that it means Buffy... That would be too easy of an answer for it.. ya know?" --

"the bunnies in the beginning..i was waiting for someting to explain why anya hated them. wa sit beacuse olaf made fun of her for wanting to give them away? i was waiting for something to happen with the bunnies so id go--aaaaahhhhhh....
and the cecily/hallie thingie...is it possible william the bloody thought a girl was beneath him and didnt ntoice her so celile/hallie was really a vengeance demon at work? crushing him...? maybe he was too wrapped up in himself and someone wished him to love someone who didnt acknowledge his existence (ok not bloody but crushing i the emotions department)." --

[re: Sandy: "in the wish--anya had a necklace that gave her the powers..did everyone forget about the necklace? giles crushed it...anya wanted willow to help her get it back so she could get her powers back..instead they brought evil willow back..anyone else remember this (duh of course you do) so why no necklace?"]
"She had one. I don't know why Buffy didn't just break it or whatever. Last nights ep was the first time you could really notice it. Hallie's was always pretty visible. Anya was wearing some ugly stuff this season, but last night I think they made a point of showing it in some of the scenes. Who knows why Buffy didn't break the necklace. Maybe she didn't know for sure? Anya told her about Hallies but then never actually got a hold of Hallies necklace,
and they don't know about Giles in the alta-verse. Gods, I don't know. :) ?" --
